Baby corn - Baby corn is a vegetable taken from standard maize (corn) plants harvested early, while the ears are very small and immature. Baby corn is typically eaten whole, cob and all, in contrast to mature maize, whose cob is typically too hard for human consumption.

Transgenic maize - Transgenic maize (corn) has been deliberately genetically modified to have agronomically desirable traits. Traits that have been engineered into corn are resistance to herbicides and incorporation of a gene that codes for the Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) toxin, protecting plants from insect pests.

Waxy corn - Waxy corn or waxy maize is a maize variety with grains that have a waxy appearance when cut, and that contains only branched-chain starch. It originated in China, and was first described in the West by Collins in 1909.

Candy corn - Candy corn is a confection. Each piece is approximately the size of a whole kernel of corn (that is, not just the exposed part), as if it fell off a ripe or dried ear of corn (maize).
